The Timothy Shawn McGavin Lodge was established with a mission to unite, strengthen, and serve the growing Brazilian-American Masonic community in Massachusetts.
As more Brazilian Brothers joined the Masonic fraternity throughout the Commonwealth, a need emerged for a bilingual Lodge that could welcome members from different backgrounds while preserving the traditions, teachings, and values of Freemasonry. The Timothy Shawn McGavin Lodge was created to provide a place where English and Portuguese-speaking Brothers could participate fully in Masonic life, strengthen their bonds of fellowship, and continue their personal journey of improvement.
Founded upon the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, the Lodge represents an important milestone in the history of Freemasonry in Massachusetts, bringing together tradition, diversity, and inclusion while maintaining the highest standards of Masonic regularity.
The Lodge received its Dispensation from the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts on March 11, 2026, beginning a new chapter in the history of the Fraternity. This achievement was made possible through the dedication, leadership, and commitment of Brothers who shared a common vision: to build a lasting Masonic home for future generations.

The Lodge proudly carries the name of Most Worshipful Timothy S. McGavin, Grand Master of Massachusetts at the time of its formation, honoring his leadership and his commitment to the continued growth and inclusiveness of Freemasonry.
Located in the 13th Masonic District of the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts, Timothy Shawn McGavin Lodge remains dedicated to building a legacy that will inspire and serve future generations of Freemasons.
